Public Statement – Road Construction and Support for Local Businesses
The Town of Three Rivers recognizes that ongoing road construction in Montague, particularly on Robertson Road, has created disruptions for residents and local businesses during the peak summer season. While infrastructure upgrades inevitably cause short-term inconvenience, they are being undertaken to support long-term community growth, safety, and economic development.
To reduce future disruptions and costs, the Town has taken this opportunity to install sewer and water infrastructure while the road is already under construction. Doing so now avoids having to remove newly paved roads later, saving taxpayers money and preventing additional closures.
We understand the impact this work is having on our valued business community and want to assure residents that we are actively working with the Province to minimize disruptions and delays. Once complete, the upgrades will enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall appeal of our town for both residents and visitors.
As we look ahead to project completion, the Town is also exploring ways to help promote and support local businesses. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to shop local, dine local, and show continued support to the small businesses that are the heart of our community.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and community spirit.
